First Design Wall Post of the New Year

Too bad my design wall hasn't changed since the last one (here).  Sigh.
So I'm going to share the rest of the project from a couple of days ago.  This is a project I was doing for a competition, but I got confused about the dates and it won't be finished in time.  So I'm going to do it without their constraints.  Sara had some questions on the first post (here).

No -- it's not stretched.  I took a picture of my daughter with a bird and I enlarged it in EQ7 after I made it black and white in Photoshop.  Then I put a piece of dry-cleaning plastic in between the fabric and taped the whole thing to the back of the fabric.  I'm using the little bottles of ink and those "fantastix" thingies to put the ink on the fabric.  I'm not crazy about those things -- but they do get easier to use with practice.

I like the "sketchy" look -- but it's not finished -- and it needs something in the background.  I'm thinking a dark background will make the images pop.

I agree a dark background would make the picture pop. Perhaps dark blue would look good?

That is gorgeous. It looks like you are doing a water colour portrait. I can't wait to see how this progresses

I look forward to seeing further work on this piece. I bought some of those fantatix things years ago but have never used them. Not yet, anyway.

Looks like we are playing with the same inks. I used mine to make a recent project and dropped a bottle of forest green on my jeans & carpet. The jeans are fine, the carpet, not so much.
