Stem

"Blade"
4" x 6"
Snow-dyed and hand-dyed cottons, pieced, fused, cotton threads
The Creative Cue for this week is "stem."  I thought of "stem the tide," "stem the flood," and slang for a lovely leg, but since it's going to be in the 40s this weekend, a blade of grass peeking up from the ground seemed most appropriate.
This is a postcard quilt.  Leave a comment on this post before March 10th and I will drop it in the mail addressed to the commenter whose name my DH draws out of a hat on that day.

Oh how I wish I was seeing blades of grass making their appearance. Great postcard!

I think we are seeing the same thing!! I was in the yard today and see that the tulips are poking up above the ground and the daylilies have a bit of green above ground too. Nothing else is showing signs of Spring.... but it can't be that far away, can it?

Stem the rain is what I am thinking in Queensland Australia - floods all round the place! I really like your postcard though. Cheers from Robin in hot and sticky Mackay

Nice piece< Karen. It has a magical look to it, like you are invoking spring. Hope this makes the nice weather hurry up a bit. The bubbles (?) are a nice contrast to the shape of the blade of grass.

Nice postcard Karen. Make me wish spring was soon blooming. When looking through the window it was snowing this morning but not setting on the ground anymore. Already an improvement!

What a lovely postcard. Spring is just starting to show through here now too.

It seems like many weeks before a blade of grass would show up here. How nice it would be to get one in the mail.
