The Best Laid Plans...

A week ago last Friday, I had an opportunity.  I was invited to the wine and cheese schmoozefest that accompanies the gallery openings at the Overture Center in Madison, Wisconsin.  I planned to go.

I have two (count 'em, two!) pieces hanging in Gallery 2 that are part of the show that accompanies the play, "1000 Words."  (Click here for a link to the show.)  The reception was on (dum dum DUUUMMMM) Friday the thirteenth.  I planned to go.  I wish I had gone.

But I forgot.  By Friday, I was exhausted and became part of the couch immediately following dinner.

So I went to the gallery on the Sunday following and took these pictures.  They did a really nice job of hanging our fiber art with the photos.  I think that the ladies room sign was an interesting choice.

This was taken at the third floor gallery -- my kind of doorstop.  Although it begs the question: what happened to the other one?

I planned to post this right after I took the photos.  Almost two weeks ago.  Oh well -- better late than never.  

Quick Monday Design Wall

This is my design wall for today.  I have added a couple of pieces of "forest dyes" to audition for the mystery piece.

I finally got started on my little stone cottage.  That's the roof floating above -- but I didn't like it, so I took it off and I'm going to redo it.

And this morning we took down our show at the Overture Center, "Turning Point."  It sure came down a lot quicker than it went up!

Turning Point is Up!

Yesterday, we finished hanging the Madison Contemporary Fiber Artists' show, Turning Point, at the Overture Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

Here is the blank canvas before we started.  This is Gallery 1 -- on the main floor of the Overture Center.

I left the photos large -- click on them for a closer view.  I'll probably post more about this with more pictures in the near future.

This show will be on display through April 3, 2011.  There is an opening reception next Friday, January 21, 2011.
